They have been a consistent Southern California live attraction, performing at events of all sizes, public & private, as well as appearing regularly at many night clubs including Dick's Last Resort, where they have maintained a "house band" identity every Wed (plus many weekend nights) since 1991. Private Domain is a well rounded, versatile entertainment package, able to entertain guests in any situation. With Paul Shaffer (voted San Diego's Entertainer of the Year) as frontman, and an impressive song list that includes the very best danceable Classic Rock songs as well as Classic Motown/Soul, Blues, & Reggae, this versatility makes them ideal for everything from weddings and corporate events to clubs and concerts. As an added bonus Private Domain is enjoying success with original music, having had their music appear in several major motion pictures, as well as having had a radio hit with their song "Absolute Perfection." They currently have 3 original CDs available. Starting in 1999, the band has endorsement agreements with Washburn Guitars, Randall Amplifiers, Eden Electronics, S.I.T. Strings, and Pro-Mark Drum Equipment. Private Domain's nucleus consists of lead singer Paul J. Shaffer and lead guitarist Jack Butler. "I had a ream of lyrics," Shaffer recalls, "but I couldn't find anyone to write with. Jack wrote music and was looking for someone with lyrics, so we started from there. Jack's musical direction fit right in with my phrasing, and the emotional content of my lyrics fit with his music." |
