The newest CD "Great Leaders" was released in 2007.
Private Domain has had their original music appear in several major motion pictures, as well as having had a radio hit with their song, "Absolute Perfection."
"Absolute Perfection," was included in the cult Beach Party film "Back to The Beach" and on the accompanying sound track album alongside Aimee Mann, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Money, Herbie Hancock and comedian Pee Wee Herman. The tune also appeared in the classic surf film "Ocean Fever II."
“Absolute Perfection” was also included on the 2001 San Diego Music Awards sampler CD. The song “Turn Out Right” was in the classic cult movie “Just One of the Guys” as well, which keeps popping up on Cinemax, HBO, Showtime and Comedy Channel. A newer version of this song appears on the “Big Time Love” CD.
The song “People Living in Shadows” appears on the soundtrack album from the Jim Carey movie “Once Bitten”
With Paul Shaffer (once voted San Diego Music Award's Entertainer of the Year) as lead singer and frontman, killer original tunes and an impressive cover song list that includes "only songs that don't suck," Private Domain can always be counted on to pump the energy level and keep it there.
Artists that Private Domain has opened for include: Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins, Bonnie Raitt, Alice Cooper, The Tubes, The Band, Chris Isaak, James Brown, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Cliff, the Wailers, Doobie Bros, John Hyatt, Garland Jefferies, Southside Johnny, the Motels, Andy Summers (the Police), Delbert McClinton, plus many others.
Before joining Paul in the Bratz (which later became Private Domain) Jack Butler played in the legendary San Diego band Glory, which featured Jerry Raney, later of the Beat Farmers. Glory opened shows for ZZ Top, Steely Dan, Electric Light Orchestra, the James Gang, Tommy Bolin, Bo Diddley, Howling Wolf, Canned Heat, etc.
